Whenever the topic of education is mentioned, people always tend to say they feel bad, yet they do nothing to help. Here in the U.S. people actually started to care about education not only here in this country, but from other countries. To this day, the only changes that have been made were education programs, and campaigns which have only helped some countries in Africa and some parts of Asia. Education is very important, as it is a great way to avoid being ignorant, have basic knowledge on everything, and it is the best way to build your network. All this can be accomplished if more people were aware of the things that can be achieved from going to school. What should be done for this campaigns to be successful is to raise awareness. What this programs need is for people around the world, not only here in the U.S. to know how people from other countries are affected by this and how can education change their lives. As more people understand this, and actually decide to help, the campaigns and programs will grow tremendously, for which it can be applied in more than one country at once. There are many ways this can be done, yet they need approval or help from the government if they want this to become and issue and for people to join this cause. Another way the education policy should be changed is by providing more jobs. As some people consider it, “education is the key to success”, yet to this day, it is not guaranteed that even after graduating and having a degree, that a person is going to have a job. This is mostly the reason around the world don’t believe on education and they support working until you die. Yet when working is the only thing they are taught to do, many other things are subject to change. Bad decisions, wrong decisions, pressured decisions, these are just a few of the mistake kids make when they start working and working without being educated before. Some are taken for granted and they are used for whatever the “bosses” want them to do. By creating more jobs, people and children’s hope raises, as the opportunity is now open for them if they are educated. In the article “To Protect, Guide, and Support” Miller specified “The solutions Stan Jones offers to these problems all entail more structure than colleges and universities have traditionally supplied, as well as industry-wide adoption of certain practices: performance funding, co-requisite remediation, 15-to-finish campaigns, structured schedules, and guided pathways.” There are so many kids around the world full of skills and with dreams that don’t get the chance to get where they want because either their parents deny them the opportunity or their governments doesn’t grants it them. This can change by joining as a whole and making everyone around the world know that there is hope for this generation. That there is hope in our society, and that changes can still happen and will as long as everyone stays together and aim for the same goal. This goal that should be set is to help others, to give them opportunities, to let them be who they want to be just as people here in the U.S. got the chance. Miller again explains Stan Jones point of view, “As Stan Jones points out, our system of higher education is all too often characterized by poor design of courses and programs, too many unclear choices for students who find themselves traversing a maze that can lead to dead ends, and broken policies for key practices such as credit transfer.”
