A video made over child soldiers, by a group of people from the website www.teachertube.com. From the start ofhe video, the narrator starts explaining what a child soldier really is not what people think they are. The narrator states some statistics including the reasons why these children are forced into becoming soldiers for strong rebellious leaders. While the narrator is giving out some important information over child soldiers, they included a lot of pathos. The creators managed to insert pathos into the video by using a single beat with a suspense tone. The voice of the narrator remains monotone so the audience can realize this is an important matter in today’s world. While all these type of noise are going on, the creators inserted pictures to catch the attention of the audience. The narrator also provides sad and shocking news about the roles of these child soldiers. All these elements are included in the first forty seconds of the video. By this time, the creators managed to get the full attention of the readers. After accomplishing getting the audience’s attention, the producers/creators of this video now provide some ethos by conducting an interview with a Child Protection Specialist that works for UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund). This gives credibility to the video itself because they provided a reliable source of information from a very big and famous committee. The creators stopped the music and played the interview so the audience will only focus on the interview and nothing else.

The Interviews

The interview talks about how UNICEF see children rights, the concept of being free and having the right to defend yourself and standing up for human rights. After the interview is over, the narrator begins to talk again stating one of the step or procedures UNICEF and other allied organizations do to rescue these children. While the narrator talks, soft and sad music start to play. After providing the first and most important step which is, rescue, the creators of the video interview an Advocate to UNIEF that was once a child soldier and its now helping those that are just being rescued. It is very effective to have used this type of interview due to the fact that it is from someone that overcame the fact of being a child soldier. This gives credibility to both the video and the organization of UNICEF. The video goes back and forth to the interview with the UNICEF member, which keeps adding important information over the organization. The video ends by providing about five seconds of all the organizations that help this cause of child soldiers. If this was a video that

addressed possibility of policy change, their propositions was rescuing kids and providing them with everyday mechanism activities, catching up to school, counseling, and donating to the organization to improve the numbers of kids being rescued from this horrible life. I agree with their ideas with this part but I don’t know what their plan is to rescue the children, they only provide information on how they treat them after they are rescued. I think that is one of the elements this video is missing in order for it to be more effective. Other than that, this is a great professional video over the topic of child soldiers.
